A rattlesnake envenomation can be a life-threatening event. There are potentially devastating physical AND financial complications for those unlucky enough to experience a rattlesnake bite!
Are you team Eastern Diamondback or team Western Diamondback? 🐍
Western diamond back here in Texas
eastern diamond back
Coyote can you show us a black mamba snake
I'm confused because it looks like the blood cells are just being pulled into the venom not destroyed and dissapearing.
Both
People really don’t understand how much nerve it takes to pick these snakes up. Hats off to these guys. 😁👌🏼
I do this on a regular,, it's not as much nerve as it is total respect over fear for the snake
Go watch chandler wildlife
My cousin picked one up when he was drunk and got bit 3 times and refused to go to the hospital and somehow got lucky and is still alive had to be a dry bite
I held black mambas, green mambas, puf adders, forest cobra’s, rinkhals. But if you are not nervous when you going to pick up a venomous, There is something wrong with you lol.
Meh its just a noisey worm
The real fear sets in when you see how much money it costs to survive it.
@Taunting Frenchman oh man that much wait time in india man you can get that day only 🙂
Lol, this cost WAY, WAY more than the amount one would spend shopping in a year.
@Taunting Frenchman not sure where the hell you went in the us then. Everywhere ive been My wait times are literally just as bad and i get to pay thousands for it.
@S I know lol I’m Canadian
@S wrong. In Canada you pay increased taxes to cover healthcare. You also pay in wasted time. Wait times are atrocious in Canada. Had to wait 3 months for a damn MRI of my back. Had another performed 2 years later in the USA the day after my Dr appt which I only had to wait 3 days for.
The people who milk snakes for venom to create antivenom are nothing short of heroes. I am so grateful for all the work that they do.
Damn im more scared of paying the hospital fee than the snake itself LOL
This is America.. Dont catch you slippin now
I myself was bitten by a baby rattle snake almost a month ago. I took 6 viles of Anti-Venom at $1800 a piece. Needless to say it’s not 375k.
Damn fee is cost the same as buying a house here in america, houses here are like $240k+
If I lived in the US id say kill me instead of giving me the treatment lol
I really miss the days where he would just explore the desert or the forest and take us on adventures
You mean the days before snakes infested earth? How was it back then? :D
@loTToLinKs I think that when I watch the newer video game reviews by Cinemassacre(The Angry Video Game Nerd) because I miss it when he didn't open the video by thanking us for watching and then doing a two minute ad before the review. I liked it better in 2019 before he did that.
@Anthony Shuey every channel has a point where you think, this is not what I came here for anymore
yeah
Please be careful guys, I've been a fan of the show for years now and I don't like seeing anyone get hurt. Especially guys like you that are so talented and such a gift to this world, truly. Right now we need people like coyote and his team. There are no good old-fashioned shows like this anymore everybody wants to muck them up with distasteful and lewd behavior. That's why I love these guys they not only do what they love they do what they love and have class while doing it.
Keep up the great work guys Love You All :-) 😎👍🙂
He has gotten hurt plenty of times in the past with stings and bites
Well said!
I really didn't know they were this strong, this big and that ferocious. 😅
Let’s just appreciate he risked his life doing this I wouldn’t even want to do that .. round of applause for coyote and the people holding the snake (and the camera mans/man)
Coyote: There is plenty of anti-venom
Hospital: That'll be an arm, a leg and your firstborn child.
@Jacabo Blanco If im working at a small company and they get mad at me for not dying I don't want to work there
@Chance if you work at a small company, prepare for the rest of the company to be VERY pissed at you 🤣
A single employee using nearly 400k in medical costs covered by insurance will hugely increase rates come renewal time lol
its called insurace
Hats off to these guys and venom harvesters in general. Their work helped me out earlier this year after I took a bite from a western Diamondback.
@Cruz Moreno out of pocket I was a little over 4k from the hospital bills and about 1k for the ambulance.
If you don’t mind me asking how much was the cost?
@Admiral Anonymous thank you. It’s really just down to small things with the muscles and nerves now. I’m mostly better but it’ll take a while longer for this remaining bit to get back to 100% but I have no doubt about that happening eventually
@SomethingSick i wish that you make a full recover soon! And how are things now?
@Ryan S Thank you. Me too
The guy that milked the snake deserve 10million subscribers hands down.
Can you believe I actually met Carl, and Marah! 😊
The snake handler seemed like a really good guy. Thanks for the show
i cant believe this guy has been doing this for 7 years and is still alive 🔥🔥🔥
He's a very skilled snake milker.
Amazing video as always coyote!! Hats off to you & everyone involved! 💯 🙏🏼
Coyote: "Never grab a snake"
Also Coyote: Proceeds to grab a snake by it's neck and get bit
I started watching your videos very recently. My kids and myself enjoy your hard work on wildlife. Keep it up 😊😊 Thank you !!!
Steve Irwin would be proud of coyote !!!
Definitely needs his own show on tv I bet it would do numbers !
he has a show, and since you dont even know about it then you can tell it didnt do numbers at all
When you use Coyote blood, it actually held up against the venom pretty well even surprising the other guy! That’s how you know he’s been bitten many times over with other deadly bites😅
I lived out in Utah for 14 years growing up and did a lot of camping. In all that time, I only ever saw one of these in the wild. It was morning and this one was just warming up on a rock. I wasn't close enough to be in danger or be threatening to the snake. I moved away to one side and the snake slowly slithered off the opposite way and that was the end of that encounter. I was pretty happy to have actually gotten to see one since I like snakes in general.
Amazing! Well done! Love the science incorporated into the video
Seeing the venom do it’s work on blood under the microscope is amazing.
Regardless of which one's venom is more potent, one will kill you just as fast as the other. I have the utmost respect for the people that handle them.
When Carl was taking the snake out, you can see his hand shaking, those guys are really brave to be doing this in the name of science
Props to this man for still doing this
A friend of mine, who was an experienced handler, was tagged by a ~4ft Western Diamondback. One fang broke skin. It took 17 vials of Crofab to stop the reaction. Thankfully he was a veteran, and the VA here in NM has it.
Wow! That fang and venom looks phenomenal. Powerful snakes indeed
Coyote always gets me rattling with anxiety
.
Lol
Ohhhhhhh…. I get it we’re watching “Rattle snakes” haha get it?
That was beautiful
@Enoch Nah
Really enjoy your show Coyote!
Been watching for a while and love your compadres that help you as well.
When I was younger I wanted to be a herpetologist so bad and used to always check out the Green Audobon Reptile book at our local library which I own now.
(Coyote is like the American Steve Irwin.)
You should do something with Steve's family!
This guy dose not even scream when he get bit
By something someone give this guy a medal
Would like to also see how a timber rattle snake stacks up with these two other rattlers. Timber rattlers don't live directly in my area, but the do live in the Appalachian mountains that are about 35 to 40 miles away from me so I am in their habitat sometimes hunting and fishing though I haven't seen one. I believe the only venemous snake that lives in my area is the copperhead and even then they are either very rare here or hard to find bc I've never found one myself though I know a couple people who have.
I honestly would be terrified of this job. I love seeing snakes in my garden like only garders(really pretty like blue+yellow stripes) but to think of actually holding a venomous snake by neck/head and having it bite into the top honestly at those parts I flinched and I would be terrified if the snake moved it’s head back.
So it either kills you quickly with venom or slowly with medical bills. The very definition of "pick your poison" lol.
I love watching you keep doing what you do
Great video! Would have been awesome to see a control with water under the microscope to really grasp what is different with and without the venom.
These snakes are so lethal. They are such beautiful creatures though. Awesome video 🤙
My dog saved me from taking an ankle bite earlier this year from a Pacific Rattler. He got between the snake and I and took a fang to the nose. He got a very little venom thankfully but the vial of antivenom was around $350US including the visit and check up. This was in Mexico and I had a hard time finding a vet that had antivenom.
Saying this as a purely informative statement, without knowing all the details of the story, but having a good understanding of the instinctually defensive behaviors of snakes, I suspect the dog getting in between you and the snake is the reason they bit. 100% of the time when a venomous (or non-venomous, but thats not important) snake bites anything that they are not planning on eating, the snake is scared. The snake thinks you, (or whatever else it is,) is a predator and is going to try to kill them to eat. They are scared for their life, and so they're going to fight for their life, even if it's something they would try avoid. Your doggo stepping towards the snake, in-between you and them, made them think their life was in eminent danger, that your dog wanted to kill them.
Glad your doggy made it through. They are so selfless. Would die anyday to protect the hoomans it loves.
Coyote is the best wildlife INclipsr on the platform.
Yep
@Brave Wilderness smooch
@Brave Wilderness I give the Brave Wilderness team, and the Brave Crew all my respect. I could not have gotten where I am today in the sense of bravery without all of you! And I am extremely grateful! Thank you! From the bottom of my heart!
@Ben Fuller i watch them all yes
I remember that little girl who got bit by a pit viper. The antivenin usually cost 3 grand a vial but there was only one bottle in the us at the time so a bidding war happened and the hospital ended up paying 16k per vial. The bill ended up costing 142k. 50k went for a helicopter. Insurance was supposed to cover all of it but did not because of the price bump. They had to pay 3 grand out of pocket. The thing that gets me is that bidding war took place while a girl is potentially dying.
Imagine living with a snake like that And not being able to afford the medical bills that goes with it........
Reptile Discovery Center working like a well-oiled team! Awesome to see how confidently they handle these neat animals. I've only ever seen a wild rattlesnake once! But maybe that's for the best that they stay away from our neighborhoods, for their own sake. (For their own 'snake'!)
They are pros! 🙌
I really appreciate looking at the differences between each snake and the venom yield super informative and i learned quiet a bit. Little curious why the price of pit viper antidote was used rather than rattler antidote when talking about needing vials of antidote. Seems a bit like a way to make the number higher as well as including hospital bills? I would've liked to know how much a vial of rattle snake venom is. I looked it up as well and everything does include medical bills involved. I can't find anything about priced of antivenom for rattlesnakes!
Rattlesnakes are considered pit vipers along with the water moccasin and copperhead.
That initial reaction wasn't an explosion of red blood cells.
That was simple physics having to do with surface tension.
I would really love it if I could be there on the wild Field trip myself
When he said everyone watching is ready I was like I’m not ready when ever I watch your videos and thinking how much pain you’re going through is just making me hurt
Right agree
Not sure what’s more intimidating, the rattlers or the medical bills 😬
@Tommy Jansen I'm Coyote Peterson... And I'm about to enter the cash zone with... an hospital.
Here we go ! One... Two... Three
Ah Ah Ah... Ouch !
Did it get you ?
😂😂😂😂
@Harold Willis Ouch !
But back to France, yestarday it was $0 for many people, now it's about $34 and god knows how much it will be tomorrow...
I went to a ER had cellulitis on the top of my foot. I was given a antibiotic prescription and the doctor literally did nothing other than look at it for literally 10 seconds. My bill was $800 😫
@[MTS] 𝐌𝟎𝐕𝐍𝐓𝐀𝟏𝐍𝟓 No more than in any other field. There's no reason they need to make an 8,000% profit. The only reason they can is because your choices are usually buy their product or die.
What, you think all that time and experience it takes to manufacture the medicine and equipment needed shouldn't be well paid off?
I'm a grown 30yr old man I watch BW and all their content with my 8yr old boy... y'all do a great job. Awesome job !
Awe thats awesome:)
Also we know a human life is 350k
That bomb metaphor was spot on. Goodness, when that venom made contact with his blood you’re imagination almost makes that implosion sound alone by what you see
It’s not as crazy of a reaction because this man has been bitten by so many venomous creatures. That his blood is probly honestly immune to venom to some extent.
To be honest, I'm so glad you didn't actually let it bite you. Is it safe to say that I feel concerned every time you guys do something like this?
Has an Eastern Diamondback ever been bred with a Western Diamondback? And if so, how potent would the hybrid venom be?
If i had to guess, 2x potent, so 50mg would kill one, so 500mg would kill 10 humans.
Sometimes potatoes
Coyote Pete never fails to give me anxiety.
I like to watch this guy's videos sometimes, just to check in and see if he's still alive
i love this! u made my childhood better! ty coyote iv watched u for years!
You know this beings up an important question: if you could make an antidote for a life-threatening disease, would you sell it for profit or make it freely available?
Moral of the story: Be very afraid of the health system in America, and just be careful with snakes.
omg guys respect how Coyote almost would DIE to make vids for us ❤️❤️❤️
Wow that was incredible thank you!
This guy is like Steve Irwin crossed with Johnny Knoxville. I love it.
A good way to understand how much damage is done macroscopically would be to add venom to some of the blood tunes and the centrifuge them down. That should show a good deal of hemolysis.
I have been watching your vids almost every since u started. your videos are amazing keep up the amazing work 😁.
let's just appreciate the fact that they go through death challenges just for us to learn
This guy was my childhood I got first introduced to something like the biggest turtle or something
That "explosion" of blood from the edge of the slide cover is physics, not biology. This is due to the effects of surface tension between the fluid, the glass and the slide cover. Addition of some other liquid at the edge of the slide cover breaks the surface tension holding the blood in it's "blob" shape and allows it to flow out wider than it previously could.
very informative and I'm glad there isn't one in Quebec
LOL, here I am watching this while one of my rattlesnakes is rattling at me 😅 I have a SOPAC and a mojave sidewinder
Congrats on 19million i remember the old days when u had 1million
Coyote: Never try to catch or interact with a venomous snake.
Also Coyote: Literally flies all over the western hemisphere catching and interacting with snakes
Sorry lol sorry sorry lol lol sorry lol ok sorry lol sorry sorry lol lol sorry sorry I don’t
Yes sir please let me know when you are ready ok
No
cause he's an expert
I have a lot of respect for him, he is having so much pain in his videos to see if ut hurts for US USSSSSS
I could watch Carl doing this job all day.Very interesting.Imagine the tension and focus.
Coyote: gets bitten
Also Coyote: making childish gun noises
Coyote has so many antibodies that the venom had a different reaction than it usually would 💀
Me: is that a spider oh my gosh spider: I'm just gonna RUN AWAY. Coyote: let's just get a stick and pick up the spider. Spider: let's just stay still for the cameras.
Man I missed this Chanel I stopped watching for 2 years and now I found you again and I’m loving the new vids!!! Gonna watch em all until I’m all caught up
Hello Pete. I have been watching your videos for a long time. I have always wanted to start my own channel and do the same thing as you. Share my love for exotic animals and teach people about them, but unfortunately I live in a poor situation and don't know where to start. I never graduated high school but my knowledge of animals is more then what people think, I just don't know where to start. Any advice?
@Jevari Ferguson yes hi there
Hi 👋 yes yes sir sir please please call me please please call sir please please don’t call sir sir
As a snake person, this was cool. Have a good day and merry Christmas!
@Arthur Morgan1 hgds
Fukking danke!
Snitches get Stitches!
Anunnaki
😯😯😯 Reptile people coming out in the open now?!?? And here I thought that was something from the tabloids!! Hahah. Merry Christmas dude.
I like how it’s neon yellow. That’s how you know it’s powerful
I would love to hold that snake 🐍
After these guys have their venom extracted, how long does it take for them to replenish their venom?
i really like that snake handler he really has respect for the animals and seems a joy to have a conversation with
Freakin' awesome !!! And dangerous as well ...
Now Coyote need to take on the ultimate challenge, I mean, imagine how EPIC to hear him saying: "Hi, I'm Coyote Peterson and today, I will go on and catch a RoadRunner" ...
@pedroRd19 lol 😂
@Lee Zinke 😅😆
If he can lol 😂
“She’s a little bit agitated” Well yeah 😂
I live and grew up in AZ I seen it first hand what rattle snakes can do to a human, especially the mojave rattler and the speckled rattler, the western diamond back has worse cell destroying venom over the eastern but the easterns get bigger therefore usually produce more venom
I’m very curious to know what the human blood could look like and react with the venom of a Black Mamba. Heehee…. Curious 😅
One day I was walking around near a dry hot place then I see a big eastern rattlesnake about 6 feet away from me coiled up I was terrified.
The crazy thing is it looked just like the snake you showcased today they are beautiful
@Bradley Maggard yeah as a kid I’d come across snakes allll the time. But now they are definitely Declining in population. I’m 25 now
@Illusory Truth Effect I know in FL I haven't seen one in years. When I was a kid it happened regularly. Population has definitely dropped. Its rare to see any snake dead or alive now.
Dam scary
WOW them snakes look great, the sizes is massive, the venom colours are just unreal.
Most BADASS snakes in the world are in the north west of Australia. That blood WTF???? This is the first vid Iv seen of yours but wont be the last. VERY well done!!!!!!! Not sure about your health system over in the USA but I love ya Dental plans.
Thanks for ya vid, I hope you never get bitten, the way one went back in the box, I was holding my air for ya cobber.
I love all your videos you are so brave
insane, you can tell this is the most afraid coyote has been, eastern diamondback damn
Very surprised how this man is this alive
alright, as if I needed more motivation to not be on the receiving end of one of these, my nerves and my wallet got the message. message still taken and duly noted. don't get bitten by a venomous snake. that western diamondback venom reaction in the blood was insane.
Damn I just came from a video of a venom extractor being bitten by an Eastern Rattlesnake 😳
hats of to these guys! These guys are risking their lives just for humans that get bitten from one of these amazing snakes! For the rest of you have a safe and wonderful day and merry christmas!
Got to love the health system in Australia. Antivenom is free
3:43 - coyote was defo thinking about it
I remember being subscribed since your first video 7 years ago, and now I have a brother who's 5 years old. And my brother loves your videos I remember me and my brother sitting on the couch and him being fascinated with everything you do. Please stay amazing and you inspire me and my brother. : )
Now that I think of it because I'm 13 I've been watching your video since I was 6, people may think it's weird but seriously this channel was my childhood.
When you realize that a single bite cost you more than few spots cars😂 🐍
Love these videos! I've been wondering how I can get a hat like yours
Man i remember watching this channel when i was 5 years old lol
And I love your videos and I love learning about new animals and insects every day
When y’all drop the venom in the blood it was so cool look’in!
