I got a lot of respect for Coyote telling them not to worry about the camera when the king cobra started to wrap around it. That camera's probably crazy expensive, but the first priority was keeping everyone safe. Great video guys!

2 questions- I know a good amount of _snakes_ but not a lot about their venom. If for example a drop of snakes venom gets *on* your skin, would the venom act like it's in your system? Or just like water falling on skin?
Also, is snakes venom watery to the touch of is it more like glue texture

    • Cullen Shearer
      Cullen Shearer 23 घंटे पहले +1

Great questions, firstly the particles of the venom are too large to slip through an unbroken layer of skin, poison is able to do so due to is smaller molecules, but with venom such as a snakes or other reptiles, the particles of the venom itself are only able to be absorbed into the skin through an open wound such as a cut or injection, but as for unbroken skin you would be safe. Secondly from what i know its similar to a saliva consistency just a little more watery than that of true saliva, im currently studying zoology with a focus or reptiles in college so hopefully that helps answer your questions :)

My friend had a gaboon viper. It was obtained legally and actually an expose on how EASILY people can get them shipped to the USA. He worked with USDA to obtain it. The safeguards that enclosure had in place JUST to feed it were impressive. If it hadn't been, I'd have never been willing to feed it. LOL It was absolutely gorgeous to look at and that was enough for me!

They are actually doing tests with venom as a potential treatment for cancer and when you think about its possible it works because venom just destroys cells, so not only does milking help with making anti dotes, its also helping develope something that could destroy cancer.

Just taking them out for cage cleaning or feeding them is fairly safe with proper training and handling equipment. What they are doing is extremely dangerous.

Also, while I never want to be near a KC, my goodness she was beautiful. The viper had stunning markings too, but I was seriously awestruck by the KC.

The last video I saw like this you did, you guys made a mistake and used the SsT tubes which have a chemical in them to force clotting within 5-15 mins. Which messed up your results.
In this case you used the Lav top tubes which come with EDTA to prevent clotting.
So the fact the blood still clotted from the venom makes it all the more impressive.
Ideally you would use the light blue top sodium cit tubes. Which is a chemical that prevents clotting until the addition of another chemical to let the blood return to its typical clot times.

@Richard Tipton Some people are claiming that Coyote exaggerates the pain from insect bites. One guy even did his own video of getting stung by executioner wasp and remaining unflinched to show Coyote overdramatises.

    Hey thanks for the video.
Still i'm a bit sceptical on the blood undermicroscope part, are you sure it's not just physics and Omeostasis doing it's work ? Have you tried with PBS or just water to test if the blood cells wouldn't be pulled out of the glass either way ??

My grandma caught a king cobra and casually held it's mouth and dropped out in a bush. My grandpa started giving milk regularly to that thing. Honestly we don't hurt it and it also doesn't hurt us. It is almost like our pet now.

My father was a herpetologist when I was a kid. He had a pair of 14 ft long cobras, some gaboon vipers, and many others. The golden cape cobra was really beautiful. I used to watch him milking snakes. It was awesome.

As someone who has been literally speaking totally blind since birth, I really enjoy your videos. Thank you for verbally describing everything step-by-step. That really helps since I can't visually see what is going on. Also, as a Christian, this really puts me in awe of creation, and just how magnificent God is at creating everything in the universe. Keep up the great work.

The king cobras 🐍 hiss was very powerful, I’ve seen these types of snakes probably very dangerous to hold it and hold the head cuz you’ll think you’ll get bitten by one of these. The snake probably said can I record too?
